IPMAN Members Begin Registration for Direct Fuel Supply from Dangote Refinery

Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) have started registering for direct transactions with Dangote Refinery ahead of the August 15 commencement of direct petroleum product distribution to retail outlets.

Dangote Refinery announced on June 15, 2025, plans to use 4,000 new Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tankers for nationwide distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and diesel directly to marketers, dealers, manufacturers, and other large consumers, bypassing traditional depots and intermediaries.

While associations like the Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association (NOGASA) and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) expressed concerns over being phased out from the value chain, IPMAN described the plan as a welcome development.

IPMAN National President Alhaji Abubakar Maigandi told newsmen that the plan will boost Nigeria’s energy security drive. He recalled the challenges the country faced when petrol was often scarce.
