Man Shot Kinsman Dead At a Burial In Ogoni

One Akerebari Imeah of Uegwure Boue Community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State has been shot dead at a wake keep by one Ideemua popularly called Brostone.

It was gathered that trouble started when the victim’s land was forcefully collected by the suspect which the latter was using to do his business.

It was also reported that Akerebari and Ideemua both met at the burial of one Supo Sunday where they both had an altercation.

Later, the suspect was said to have trailed the victim to a certain location where he shot him dead.

A source with knowledge of the incident who refused to be mentioned in print for security reason told our correspondent that the suspect committed the crime after he was released from anti cultism unit detention through the help of his brother who works with the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the source, “Akerebari, a businessman in his mid 30s was shot dead by Ideemua at the wake keep of one retired Supo Sunday in Uegwure Community in Khana LGA.

“The killer was said to have had a brief altercation with the victim over a portion of the deceased’s land that the suspect forcibly used to set up his business.

“After the bitter exchange of words, the suspect trailed the victim to a certain spot and shot him on his head.

“The incident has been reported to the Bori Police Division and the corpse deposited in the mortuary as the search for the suspect continues.”
