The Rivers State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC), Mr Moses Oleghe, has revealed that out of the 3000 corps members of the 2024 Batch B Stream II who served in the State, six are to repeat the entire service year while 26 others are to serve extension of service ranging from 1 – 3 months.
Oleghe also stated that one of the corps members won the State Honours Award.
The coordinator stated these while delivering his farewell address during the low-key passing-out ceremony held at Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
The NYSC coordinator urged the corps members to continue embodying the spirit of national service by putting Nigeria first in their future endeavours.
He encouraged the corps members who served in the State and concluded their National Youth Service to draw inspiration from the positive experiences of their service year as they move forward in life.

Oleghe praised the Corps Members for upholding the values and ideals of the NYSC Scheme. He commended their selfless and impactful contributions to their host communities, emphasising their role in improving lives through dedication and quality service.
He further advised them to be proactive in nation-building by leveraging the skills acquired during their service year. “Do not depend on white-collar jobs,” he said, urging them to pursue entrepreneurship and innovation instead.
Reflecting the sentiments of the Rivers State Government and its people, Oleghe acknowledged the significant contributions of Corps Members to the state’s economic development, noting that their efforts had not gone unnoticed.
