Disturbing stench around Rumuokoro worries residents

Some shop owners in Port Harcourt particularly those selling at the Rumuokoro axis of Port Harcourt have not been participating in the weekly sanitation exercise, theportcitynews.com investigation reveals.

As a result, some of the drainages which are filled with dirt, brings out unbearable stench thereby forcing passers-by to cover their noses while walking along the road.

In an interview with some residents of the area, they said the state government should look into the issue of nonchalance and lackadaisical attitude of some of the shop owners in the area of sanitation.

They also said there should be a taskforce team that are specially assigned to seize properties of those who do not comply with sanitation exercises.
