Galatasaray Buzzes with Anticipation on Osimhen’s Return

There’s a wave of excitement sweeping through Istanbul as Galatasaray edges closer to finalizing the high-profile signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli. Both the city and head coach Okan Buruk are eagerly awaiting the forward’s return after his sensational loan spell last season.

Talks between the Turkish champions and Serie A side Napoli have reached an advanced stage, with only minor details reportedly left to finalize. The deal, according to inside sources, could be announced in a matter of days.

Speaking to journalists, coach Buruk confirmed the club’s confidence in closing the deal:
“Negotiations have been progressing well. We’re optimistic and want everything wrapped up soon,” Buruk said. “Victor was keen from the start, and talks with Napoli have been productive. Our transfer plans this summer have revolved around this move.”

Galatasaray are reportedly prepared to invest €75 million in total, €40 million as an initial payment and the remaining €35 million to be settled by 2026. The deal is also said to include a clause barring Osimhen from returning to Serie A for the next two seasons, while Napoli will retain a 10% sell-on fee.

Osimhen has already agreed to the permanent switch after an incredible loan campaign where he netted 37 goals in 41 appearances, leading Galatasaray to a league and cup double. His form reignited global interest in his talent, but the Turkish giants have made keeping him a top priority.

The 25-year-old is expected in Istanbul in the coming days to complete his medicals and sign a four-year deal that will see him become one of the highest earners in the club’s history.

With Osimhen’s transfer nearly complete, Galatasaray is set to shift attention to strengthening their goalkeeping options, while also offloading a few players to balance the squad in line with domestic regulations.

The club’s hierarchy believes that Osimhen’s presence could be the missing link in their pursuit of European glory and continued domestic dominance.
