Veteran Star Tom Njemanze Passes Away at 75

The Nigerian film industry is in mourning following the death of legendary Nollywood actor Tom Njemanze, who passed away on Friday at the age of 75 after a courageous battle with prostate cancer.

‎Njemanze, a beloved figure in Nigerian cinema, rose to fame in the 1990s with his unforgettable performances in classic films such as Tokunboh, Pounds and Dollars, Atosa, Issakaba, Osuofia in London, Brain Box, and Igbotic Love. Known for his powerful screen presence and expressive acting, he became a household name and left an indelible mark on Nollywood.

‎Tributes have poured in from colleagues, friends, fans, and family, celebrating his legacy and contributions to the entertainment industry. Many have taken to social media to share fond memories of the late actor, describing him as a mentor, a trailblazer, and a true icon of Nigerian cinema.

‎”Tom Njemanze was more than just an actor—he was a legend whose work inspired generations,” said fellow Nollywood veteran Enebeli Elebuwa. “His passion for storytelling and his dedication to his craft will never be forgotten.”
