Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has connected the threats made against her and her family to her public declaration of political views during Nigeria’s recent presidential elections.
As earlier reported by The Port City News, the businesswoman, whose shop in Lagos suffered damage from a fire, also attributed this incident to her outspoken call for justice regarding the late singer Mohbad.
Ojo shared this information in a lengthy post on Instagram while responding to a video featuring a group of men who held a protest against her. They expressed death wishes and accused her of obstructing justice for the deceased singer.
Addressing these claims, the actress clarified that she never blamed anyone for the singer’s death. She explained that her response was driven by emotion, stemming from distressing videos that were circulating at that time, and that her intention was solely to advocate for thorough investigations.

“I recognize that due to my political stance during the recent elections, I have faced intimidation, orchestrated attacks, and personal insults. Yet, those opinions were sincere expressions of my beliefs, and I firmly believe they should not lead to retaliatory actions from anyone,” she stated.
“I find solace in the scriptures, which remind us that the righteous will face many troubles, but God will rescue me from all of them,” the statement read.
