Bimbo Ademoye Speaks Up on Betrayal From Nollywood Co-Actor

Nollywood star Bimbo Ademoye has opened up about a painful chapter in her life, detailing how a close friend she once supported turned against her in a shocking act of betrayal. The award-winning actress, known for her roles in Sugar Rush, Looking for Baami, and Backup Wife, shared the emotional story on her Instagram page, revealing how jealousy and deceit from someone she trusted left her deeply hurt.

Ademoye recounted how she went above and beyond to help an aspiring actress friend, ensuring she had everything needed to shine in the competitive entertainment industry.

“I remember I once had a friend who wanted to be an actor as well. Whenever we attended events, I’d shop for her as well, I’m talking about clothes, shoes, bags and all. I wanted her to look like the superstar she wanted to become. Mind you, I was already getting fame, because I already had movies like Sugar Rush, Looking for Baami, Backup Wife, and all, let me add that I had already been nominated twice for the AMVCA,” she wrote.

Despite her rising fame, Bimbo made sure her friend never felt left behind, even styling her for major events. However, her kindness was met with unexpected rivalry.

The actress recalled an incident at a movie premiere where she was the lead actress. After multiple fittings with her stylist—all done in the presence of her friend—Bimbo was stunned when her friend showed up in the same designer dress, just in a different color.

“I got my makeup done, hair done, everything done. It was time to wear my dress. Tell me why Aunty pulled out the same exact dress I was wearing in another colour. In all honesty, I didn’t really mind. But my sister who has never been wrong said to me ‘preke I don’t think that was ok. She should let you have your moment’… I told her ‘naaah it’s not that serious bikesy.’”

Though Bimbo initially brushed it off, her sister’s warning proved true. The friend’s behavior escalated, with her constantly trying to outshine Bimbo—ironically, while still relying on the actress’s generosity.

The final straw came when Bimbo fell seriously ill and realized her so-called friend had completely abandoned her.

“Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, I didn’t see this aunty. So I took my L and cut her off.”

But the betrayal didn’t end there. After distancing herself, Bimbo discovered that her former friend had created a fake Instagram account to troll her online. Even more shockingly, the woman allegedly slid into Bimbo’s then-boyfriend’s DMs, attempting to sabotage their relationship.

“Tell me why this daughter of jezebel created a fake page on IG and started trolling me. Sending messages to my boyfriend at the time saying all sorts. The crazīest part, she even tried to link up with him romantically.”
