The family of Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings has announced October 27, 2026, for a Night of Tributes and Service of Songs in honour of the late singer.
The announcement comes about a week after his death, which has prompted tributes from fans, fellow gospel ministers and other members of the entertainment industry.
In a post shared on the singer’s social media page on Wednesday, the family said the event would take place at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Ibadan, at 3 p.m.
“We invite you to join us for a Night of Tributes and Service of Songs in honour of our beloved brother, friend, and gospel minister, Olayemi Bayonle Bolaji, fondly known as Toluwanisings,” the statement read.
Toluwanisings reportedly died on October 14, 2026, hours after ministering at singer Bidemi Olaoba’s praise concert in Ibadan.
According to his personal assistant, the singer slumped at his residence and later died after allegedly being turned away by eight hospitals in Ibadan because of a lack of emergency equipment.
The circumstances surrounding his death have sparked widespread reactions on social media, with several people, including celebrities, raising concerns about emergency medical services and the state of healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
The allegations regarding the hospitals’ responses have intensified calls for improved emergency care and better-equipped medical facilities.
The October 27 gathering will provide an opportunity for family members, friends, colleagues and admirers to pay their respects and celebrate the life and ministry of the late gospel singer.
