The 14th Youth Tourism and Hospitality Leaders Forum (YTHLF) has secured aviation scholarships worth approximately ₦2 million to support young Nigerians seeking professional training and career opportunities in the aviation industry.
The scholarships, provided by the Universal School of Aviation (USA), will be awarded through a raffle draw at the forum scheduled for Thursday, October 29, 2026, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Convener of YTHLF, Omololu Olumuyiwa, said the initiative was designed to help young people overcome financial barriers to aviation training and improve their access to employment opportunities.
He noted that previous beneficiaries of the forum’s scholarship programmes had completed their training and secured jobs in the aviation industry.
“We have seen some of our scholarship beneficiaries go through training, acquire professional qualifications and eventually secure employment in the aviation industry. That is the kind of impact we want to continue making,” Olumuyiwa said.

He explained that many young Nigerians aspire to build careers in aviation but are unable to afford the professional training required to enter the sector.
“This is not just about attending an event; it is about creating real opportunities for our young people. Many youths are passionate about aviation and have the ambition to acquire professional training, but financial constraints often stand in their way,” he added.
According to Olumuyiwa, the scholarship initiative reflects the forum’s broader commitment to youth empowerment, career development and promoting aviation, tourism and hospitality as pathways to employment and economic growth.
The 14th edition of YTHLF is expected to bring together students, young leaders, industry professionals, government representatives and other stakeholders to explore career opportunities and development prospects within the tourism and hospitality sectors.
The aviation scholarships are expected to be a major highlight of the event, providing selected participants with opportunities to pursue professional training and establish careers in the industry.
