The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the deadline for candidates with outstanding admission offers dating from 2021 to 2025 to accept or reject them on its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS). In a statement posted on its X handle on Wednesday, the board gave affected candidates until November 30, 2026, to take action.
JAMB urged candidates with pending offers to log into their CAPS accounts and indicate whether they wish to accept or reject the admission. The board warned that candidates who fail to act before the deadline will lose the status of their outstanding offers, stating that any offer neither accepted nor rejected after November 30 will automatically revert to “Not Admitted” on its records. It also cautioned candidates against waiting until the last minute and urged them to check their CAPS accounts promptly.
This latest extension follows an earlier deadline of September 30, 2026, which JAMB had announced on August 30 for candidates offered admission from 2021 onward. That deadline itself followed an initial cutoff of August 31, which the board had extended once already.

In its earlier August statement, JAMB explained that candidates who accepted their offers would be able to proceed to print their admission letters, while those who rejected theirs would see their dashboards revert to “Not Admitted.”
The board also noted that candidates who had since moved to another institution or programme could still accept their previous outstanding offer and later apply for the appropriate correction or deletion. Additionally, candidates who received admission in the 2026 exercise but still had older offers pending were told they could reject those earlier offers without affecting their 2026 admission.
Under the new extension, JAMB reiterated that any 2021–2025 offer left unresolved after November 30 will automatically default to “Not Admitted,” and warned that any subsequent request to update such an admission would attract an applicable penalty fee.
