The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has launched a Student Share Grant Initiative to promote financial literacy, investment awareness, and long-term wealth creation among Nigerian tertiary institution students.
The programme is open to students aged 18 and above enrolled in recognised public and private tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
Under the initiative, eligible students who complete the required verification and subscribe for at least 10 shares in the ongoing Initial Public Offering (IPO) of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE (DPRP) through the Foundation’s designated platform will qualify for an additional 10 shares funded by the ADF.
Chairman of the Foundation, Aliko Dangote, said the initiative would give young Nigerians practical exposure to investing and encourage responsible saving and ownership.
“Supporting young people goes beyond providing access to education. It must also involve equipping them with the knowledge and opportunities to participate in economic growth and wealth creation,” Dangote said.

He added that early exposure to investment would help young people make informed financial decisions and contribute more actively to economic development.
ADF Chief Executive Officer, Zouera Youssoufou, said the programme was designed to bridge the gap between financial education and practical investment experience.
She said the Foundation hoped the initiative would inspire a lifelong interest in financial literacy, investing and asset ownership among young Nigerians.
According to the Foundation, students must complete the verification process before subscribing for a minimum of 10 DPRP shares in their own names. Those who meet the eligibility requirements will then qualify for the Foundation-funded additional 10 shares.
The ADF stressed that participation is voluntary and should not be regarded as investment advice or a recommendation to purchase DPRP shares.
It advised prospective participants to review the relevant IPO documents and make independent investment decisions before subscribing.
