Guinea-Bissau moved to the top of Group L after defeating Nigeria 3-0 in their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Tuesday night.
The Djurtus produced a dominant display at the Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau to secure their second consecutive victory in the qualifying campaign.
Both teams entered the encounter on the back of opening-day wins and were aiming to take control of the group.
However, the Super Eagles struggled to create meaningful chances for much of the contest.
Guinea-Bissau took the lead after Franculino Djú broke down the right flank and beat Bruno Onyemaechi before firing past goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
The hosts carried their advantage into the break and continued to threaten after the restart.
Mama Baldé doubled Guinea-Bissau’s lead in the 66th minute to put the home side firmly in control.
Nigeria pushed forward in search of a response but failed to break down a disciplined Guinea-Bissau defence.
The Djurtus sealed the victory in stoppage time with a third goal to complete an emphatic win.
The result leaves Guinea-Bissau top of Group L with six points from two matches.
Nigeria remain second on three points after recording one win and one defeat in their opening two fixtures.
The Super Eagles will now look to bounce back in their next qualifying match as they continue their quest for a place at the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
