The Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Chima Njoku, has offered temporary accommodation to four families displaced by flooding in Eneka, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Njoku announced the gesture in a statement, saying the temporary shelter was intended to provide relief to residents who have been forced out of their homes by the rising floodwaters.
He said families affected by the flooding in the Eneka area could reach out for assistance, adding that accommodation had been made available for four families on a temporary basis.

Flooding has continued to affect parts of Port Harcourt and neighbouring communities in recent weeks, leaving several homes submerged and displacing residents.
Government agencies have provided relief materials to some affected communities, while stakeholders have continued to call for stronger measures to tackle the recurring problem.
Among the measures being advocated are the regular desilting of canals and waterways and improved drainage infrastructure to reduce the impact of flooding during heavy rainfall.
