The Coordinator of the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement in Rivers State, Dr Kingsley Ogu, has taken the campaign for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates to the grassroots, engaging youth leaders in Egi and Ogbogu communities in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of the state.
Ogu held separate strategic meetings with the Egi Community Youth Chairman’s Forum and the Ogbogu Community Family Youth Chairman’s Forum as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections.
The discussions focused on developments in the country and the role of citizens, particularly young people at the community level, in shaping Nigeria’s political future.
The groups acknowledged that there were areas where the country could improve, while also highlighting what they described as progress recorded in recent years.
They subsequently resolved to support Tinubu and other APC candidates, with their grassroots structures expected to commence door-to-door mobilisation across the communities.
Speaking after the engagements, Ogu expressed appreciation to the two youth groups for their participation, saying the meetings had reinforced his belief in the capacity of grassroots stakeholders to contribute to political mobilisation.
He said the engagements were part of the movement’s efforts to take its campaign beyond political circles by directly engaging community leaders, youth groups and residents ahead of the elections.
The meetings are expected to form part of a wider grassroots mobilisation campaign by the P-BAT Door-to-Door Movement across Rivers State.
