The Rivers State Police Command has presented cheques totaling ₦76,016,799.28 to families and beneficiaries of police officers who died in the line of duty.
The presentation was carried out under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga A. Adepoju, as part of the welfare initiatives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, aimed at supporting families of officers who lost their lives in the service of the nation.
Speaking during the presentation, Adepoju reaffirmed the IGP’s commitment to the welfare of police personnel and their families, stressing that the sacrifices of officers who died in the line of duty would not be forgotten.
The commissioner appreciated the IGP for his continued support for police officers and the families of fallen personnel, noting that the financial assistance would provide meaningful relief to the beneficiaries during a difficult period.

The beneficiaries expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police and the Rivers State Police Command, describing the gesture as a demonstration of the Nigeria Police Force’s concern for the families of its fallen officers.
The Rivers State Police Command said it would continue to prioritise the welfare of its personnel and honour the sacrifices of officers who died in the service of the nation.
