Candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) for the Rivers South-East Senatorial District, under the Holy Ghost Thunder Coalition. Dr. Fabeke Douglas, has appealed to youths and political stakeholders in Khana Local Government Area and other parts of the senatorial district to support peaceful and credible elections come 2027.
Douglas disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent in Port Harcourt, urged political actors and their supporters to channel their energy into legitimate political activities, including training, supporting candidates, campaigning and voting.
He warned against electoral malpractices capable of undermining the democratic process, urging stakeholders not to prevent voters from casting their ballots for candidates of their choice.
He also advised against vote buying, snatching of electoral materials, disruption of voting, diversion of Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials or materials, and other attempts to manipulate election results.
Douglas further cautioned political actors against using youths as instruments of violence or attempting to influence the police and other security agencies against candidates or political parties.
He extended the appeal to all Local Government Areas in the Rivers South-East Senatorial District, particularly areas where similar incidents had been recorded in previous elections.
The AA candidate said the appeal was also a warning to those who might seek to undermine the electoral process, urging them to consider the consequences of their actions.
He called on all stakeholders to allow the will of the people to prevail through peaceful, transparent and credible elections.
“Let us choose leadership through peace, integrity, and the will of the people. Maintain your lane, and work with your conscience,” he said.
