The Guild of Online Media Editors and Publishers of Nigeria (GOMEP-NG) has unveiled a new corporate identity and logo as part of efforts to strengthen professional journalism and restore public confidence in Nigeria’s digital media space.
The Guild said the new identity represents the emergence of a new generation of young, bold and fearless editors and publishers committed to credible journalism, professional standards and responsible media practice.
Speaking against the backdrop of growing concerns over media independence and credibility, GOMEP-NG said journalism must remain rooted in truth, courage, fairness and accountability.

The Guild expressed concern over the growing alignment of some media practitioners with political interests, warning that such relationships could undermine public trust and weaken the independence of the profession.
It said its renewed focus would include editorial leadership, credible journalism, public accountability, capacity building, media innovation, collaboration and national development.
GOMEP-NG also urged online media platforms to move beyond partisan politics and personality-driven reporting by providing credible information and holding governments and public officials accountable.
The Guild described the new logo as more than a change in visual identity, saying it symbolises a new direction for digital journalism and its commitment to professionalism and ethical reporting.
“The true spirit of journalism must not be lost. It must be protected, strengthened and passed on to the next generation,” the Guild said.
