Brighton Sign Super Eagles Winger Femi Azeez from Millwall

Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of Super Eagles winger Femi Azeez from Championship side Millwall on a four-year contract for an undisclosed fee.

The deal was finalised after Brighton and Millwall submitted a deal sheet before Tuesday’s 11 pm transfer deadline, extending the window until 1 am on Wednesday to allow the transfer to be completed.

Brighton sporting director Mike Cave expressed delight at the club’s acquisition of the 25-year-old, praising his impressive campaign with Millwall.

“We are delighted to add Femi to the squad. He arrives off the back of an excellent season with Millwall, having played a key role for them as they finished in the playoffs,” Cave said.

“He was one of the most exciting attacking talents in the Championship, and we’re delighted to have finally agreed his transfer. We are now looking forward to working with him.”

Azeez began his football journey in Watford’s youth system before moving into non-league football with Northwood. He subsequently featured for Wealdstone and Hanwell Town before joining Reading in 2019. He moved to Millwall in 2024.

During his time at Millwall, Azeez made 77 appearances, scoring 15 goals and registering 13 assists. His performances in the 2025/26 season earned him places in both the PFA and EFL Championship Teams of the Season.

The winger has also established himself on the international stage with Nigeria. On his Super Eagles debut in June, Azeez scored both goals in Nigeria’s 2-0 victory over Zimbabwe.

Four days later, he provided an assist as Nigeria defeated Jamaica 3-0 in London to win the Unity Cup.

Azeez’s move to Brighton marks the latest step in an impressive rise through the English football pyramid and makes him the second Nigerian player on the Seagulls’ books this season.

Brighton had earlier completed the signing of fellow Nigerian winger Zadok Yohanna from Swedish club AIK Stockholm.
