JAMB Launches Online O’Level Result Upload, Eliminating CBT Centre Visits

JAMB

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has rolled out a digital system enabling applicants seeking admission into Nigerian higher institutions via the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME, to authenticate and submit their O’Level results remotely.

The novel service, which currently covers results released by the West African Examinations Council, WAEC, is expected to minimize applicants’ reliance on Computer-Based Test, CBT, centres for O’Level result submissions, particularly during peak periods.

Under this setup, JAMB will electronically validate candidates’ credentials directly with the respective examination bodies prior to updating their profiles.

The Board, in a release on Monday through its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, stated that the scheme was designed to make its operations simpler, faster, safer, and more convenient while eradicating issues linked to the traditional manual submission method.

According to JAMB, the platform will also resolve problems involving misplaced or mixed-up paper certificates, submission of unverified or fake results, as well as mistakes during the manual input of subjects and grades.

Through the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility portal with examination bodies, candidates’ results can now be cross-checked against records stored by the issuing authorities before being imported into their JAMB profiles.

The Board noted that the breakthrough formed part of its renewed user-centered service delivery agenda under its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, utilizing technology to reduce unnecessary physical visits, queues, and paperwork.

Steps To Verify And Upload Results

JAMB explained that applicants would first be required to secure a result verification code by visiting the designated result verification portal.

Candidates are expected to input their National Identification Number, NIN, choose the number of O’Level sittings alongside the relevant examination body or bodies, and provide their email address and mobile number before completing payment via the available payment portal.

Following payment, candidates will enter their examination credentials, including examination number, examination series, and examination year.

Upon successful authentication, a Verification Code will be dispatched to the candidate.

In the second phase, applicants are required to send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019.

JAMB stated that the authenticated result would subsequently be uploaded, with candidates receiving a notification confirming the submission.

Candidates with two O’Level sittings must log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”

After entering the Verification Code, the two verified results will appear, allowing candidates to pick the required subjects.

The Board indicated that candidates must select at least five and at most nine subjects, ensuring no subject is picked more than once, before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results.”

A notification will be delivered to candidates once the upload is successfully finalized.

JAMB highlighted that the new verification system would offer a particularly helpful alternative during periods when CBT centres face heavy congestion, long queues, or network challenges.

The Board affirmed that it would continue to strengthen partnerships with examination bodies and other government agencies while leveraging technology to streamline its procedures and enhance the overall candidate experience.

It added that the development underscored its resolve to prioritize candidate convenience and efficient service delivery across its operations.

The latest advancement represents another step in JAMB’s digital transformation, transitioning a workflow that previously required physical intervention into a tech-driven system that allows candidates to complete essential admission-related tasks remotely.
