A family has raised concerns over the whereabouts of a woman who reportedly went missing after leaving her residence in Igruwta to meet a man she had met online.
The woman, whose identity has not been disclosed, reportedly left home on July 23 after arranging to meet the man, with whom she had been communicating through social media.
Before leaving, she reportedly forwarded part of their conversation with the man to her roommate. The roommate subsequently contacted the man through WhatsApp and informed him that the woman was on her way to meet him.
According to the family, the roommate later asked the man whether the woman had arrived. He reportedly replied that she had not yet arrived.
The woman was expected to remain in contact with her roommate, particularly because the two shared a residence and had only one house key.
The roommate had travelled to visit her family and was expected to return home on Sunday. She reportedly tried calling the woman to find out whether she would be around when she returned, but her phone was unreachable.
The roommate subsequently attempted to contact the man the woman had gone to meet, but his number was also reportedly not connecting.
The family said it was not until July 28 that they became aware that the woman had gone missing.

According to the family, the woman had earlier asked the man to send her photograph because she did not usually visit people without informing someone close to her. Although the man eventually sent a photograph, he later deleted it from their chat, leaving the family without a copy of his image.
Following the disappearance, the family reported the matter to the police and approached several police stations for assistance. They also requested that authorities notify them if any unidentified body or related incident had been recorded around the period of her disappearance.
The family further sought assistance in tracing both the missing woman’s phone number and that of the man she reportedly went to meet.
Efforts to track the numbers have so far produced contact information linked to the lines, but the family said the information has not yet provided a confirmed location or established the man’s identity.
The family is appealing for assistance from anyone who may have information about the woman’s whereabouts or the identity and location of the man she reportedly went to meet.
Anyone with credible information is urged to contact the appropriate law enforcement authorities or the family.
