A traditional worshipper, Ezewanyi, has narrated how her shrine and other personal belongings were allegedly destroyed and burnt by youths in Onne, Eleme Local Government Area of Rivers State.
According to her, the youths allegedly invaded her residence after claiming they were searching for items they considered suspicious.
Ezewanyi said the youths, upon allegedly finding nothing incriminating, proceeded to destroy and burn her belongings.
“Because they could not see anything to lay hands on, they started burning my properties and drinking my Fanta,” she said.
She added that the destruction of her international passport was particularly painful.
“The one that pained me most is my international passport that they burnt,” Ezewanyi recounted.
The incident has reportedly drawn the attention of the Supreme Royal Association of Traditional Medicine Practitioners in Nigeria, which has vowed to take action over the alleged destruction of the traditional worshipper’s property.
The association is expected to pursue appropriate measures in response to the incident, as concerns continue to grow over the alleged actions of the youths.
