The Leadership of the University of Calabar has distanced itself from an unlawful off-site educational facility conducting business in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, while deceitfully employing the school’s title and emblem to mislead the public.
In an official statement released by the Registrar, Dr. (Mrs.) Chukwuka I. Icha, Leadership revealed that the unauthorized establishment, functioning as Bori Business School, is situated at NUJ Press Centre, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where it allegedly promotes Diploma, B.Sc., B.A., PGD and Ph.D. courses.
The announcement emphasizes that Bori Business School maintains no partnership with the University of Calabar and has never shared any connection with the school.
The notice additionally reminded the public that the institution terminated all regional branch outlets in 2003 following an instruction from the Federal Ministry of Education via the National Universities Commission (NUC), which banned the running of such facilities.

As stated by the Registrar, the institution possesses no regional branches, administrators, or delegates empowered to enroll applicants or conduct educational offerings on its account anywhere beyond its sanctioned premises.
Leadership consequently cautioned the general population to remain alert and refrain from falling prey to persons or organizations fraudulently masquerading as delegates of the University of Calabar, stressing that the school entirely separates itself from the operations of the unlawful facility.
The institution further urged the Rivers State Ministry of Education to examine the operations of Bori Business School and secure its shutdown for improperly employing the institution’s branding and damaging its standing.
Leadership advised the general public to proceed with caution and confirm every detail regarding enrollment and educational offerings through the institution’s authentic outlets.
