Coach Lara Kudayisi, wife of Teddy Don-Momoh, has died barely two weeks after welcoming their first child together.
The sad news was announced by her family in a statement shared on her official Instagram page.
According to the statement, Lara passed away peacefully following a brief illness.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, Lara Kudayisi Don-Momoh.
“After a brief illness, Coach Lara passed away peacefully,” the family stated.
The family appealed for privacy as they mourn her passing and requested prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul and strength to bear the loss.

“During this deeply painful time, we humbly ask for privacy and prayers for the peaceful repose of her soul, and for all who mourn this immeasurable loss,” the statement added.
They also disclosed that details of the funeral arrangements would be communicated at a later date.
Lara’s death comes just weeks after she and her husband welcomed their first child, a milestone that had been widely celebrated by family, friends and well-wishers on social media.
Teddy Don-Momoh was previously married to renowned gospel singer Kefee, who died in June 2014 after battling a lung-related illness.
The Don-Momoh family expressed appreciation for the outpouring of love and support received since the announcement.
“We sincerely thank everyone for the love, support, prayers, and understanding extended to the family during this difficult time,” the statement concluded.
