Turkish Super League champions Galatasaray have sent a clear message to Europe’s elite by rejecting a massive €60 million offer from Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen.
According to reports from Polymarket Sports, Tottenham have identified the 27-year-old Nigeria international as their primary target to run their front line this summer. But the Galatasaray board rejected the whole bid outright, valuing their talisman significantly higher within the cutting-edge transfer market.
Given Osimhen’s monumental impact, it comes as no surprise that Galatasaray’s corporate stance made the move from Serie A side Napoli to Istanbul.
The Super Eagles forward loved the closing season of an incredible marketing campaign, classifying himself as one of the most lethal strikers in European football. In just 33 appearances in all competitions, Osimhen scored a mind-boggling 22 goals and 8 assists, leading Galatasaray to a repeat Turkish Super League title.
Furthermore, following the current departure of Mauro Icardi, Osimhen has fairly taken on more of a managerial role within manager Okan Buruk’s team. As a result, the Turkish giants are not under financial pressure to sell their prized assets until a file-breaking offer is put on the table.
