Popular Nigerian musician David Adeleke, known professionally as Davido, has purchased a Tesla Cybertruck as a gift for his former record label signee, Adewale Mayowa Emmanuel, professionally known as Mayorkun.
Davido announced the gift through a post on his official Instagram page, sharing a photograph of the luxury electric vehicle alongside a brief message addressed directly to the artist.
“My gift to you. I love you iammayorkun,” Davido captioned the post, accompanied with a photograph of the vehicle.
The Tesla Cybertruck is an all-electric utility vehicle manufactured by American automotive company Tesla, Inc., with market prices for the vehicle in Nigeria generally ranging between ₦195 million and ₦300 million.
It is distinguished by its geometric body profile, unpainted stainless-steel exterior, and armored glass construction.
The gesture shows the ongoing personal and professional relationship between the two musicians following their earlier business collaboration. Mayorkun was signed to Davido’s record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), in 2016 after being discovered on social media. During his tenure with the label, Mayorkun released multiple commercially successful singles and his debut studio album before transitioning to operate as an independent artist.
