Residents Demand Justice After Woman’s Murder By Boyfriend

The killing of a certain Miss Caroline Sunday Igbiri by her boyfriend, over allegations of cheating, have been described as barbaric, unfortunate and unacceptable by natives of Eneka Clan in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Condemnations have continued to trail the action of the boyfriend whose name was given simply as Richard, even as most respondents urged the State Police command to thoroughly investigate the incident and bring the culprit to book.

In a viral video, the boyfriend while accusing the victim of cheating, claimed the injuries on her head and eyes believed to have led to her death were as a result of a fall.

In an interview with TPCN correspondent, a local from the Mr. Victor Dike condemned the murder stating that such acts do not represent the community of Eneka.

According to Dike, “the murder of a young lady is condemnable and so unfortunate. The Eneka populace, indigenes are not known for such barbaric act, it is so barbaric and unacceptable.

“We totally condemn it. It’s unfortunate and I hope that the law enforcement agency have swung into action as to arresting the culprit to bring him to book.”

Dike also advised that “ladies who are in relationships should be careful of who they are in relationships with because that is one of the sensitive or red flags that may have displayed earlier but was ignored.

“I urge everyone to be cautious and wise as I still condemn that act. No life is worth been taken so cheaply like that.”

Also, a social media influencer took to his page to call for justice for the victim.

His words: “We are deeply saddened and outraged by the tragic killiñg of Miss Caroline Sunday Igbiri, who was allegedly múrdered by her boyfriend, Richard.

“What makes this heartbreaking incident even more disturbing are reports that the alleged perpetrator’s family has remained silent, showing no public remorse or willingness to take responsibility. We are also receiving reports that the pursuit of justice is being delayed.

“Although there are reports that the suspect is currently in the custody of the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID) of the Nigeria Police, we respectfully urge the Police to conclude their investigation promptly and, where the evidence supports it, charge the case to court without unnecessary delay. Justice must not be delayed.

“Caroline was a young woman with hopes, dreams, and a promising future. Her life mattered, and she did not deserve to die in such a tragic manner.

“We call on all relevant authorities to ensure that this matter is handled professionally, transparently, and in accordance with the law. If anyone is found responsible for Caroline’s death, they must be held accountable through the judicial process.

“We also appeal to well-meaning Nigerians, civil society organizations, community leaders, and the media to amplify this call. Please lend your voice so that this case receives the attention it deserves and justice is not denied.

“Justice delayed is justice denied. Justice for Caroline. Justice must be served.”
