His words: “We are deeply saddened and outraged by the tragic killiñg of Miss Caroline Sunday Igbiri, who was allegedly múrdered by her boyfriend, Richard.
“What makes this heartbreaking incident even more disturbing are reports that the alleged perpetrator’s family has remained silent, showing no public remorse or willingness to take responsibility. We are also receiving reports that the pursuit of justice is being delayed.
“Although there are reports that the suspect is currently in the custody of the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department (State CID) of the Nigeria Police, we respectfully urge the Police to conclude their investigation promptly and, where the evidence supports it, charge the case to court without unnecessary delay. Justice must not be delayed.
“Caroline was a young woman with hopes, dreams, and a promising future. Her life mattered, and she did not deserve to die in such a tragic manner.
“We call on all relevant authorities to ensure that this matter is handled professionally, transparently, and in accordance with the law. If anyone is found responsible for Caroline’s death, they must be held accountable through the judicial process.
“We also appeal to well-meaning Nigerians, civil society organizations, community leaders, and the media to amplify this call. Please lend your voice so that this case receives the attention it deserves and justice is not denied.
“Justice delayed is justice denied. Justice for Caroline. Justice must be served.”
