Determined to secure electoral victories in the forthcoming 2027 general elections, the All Progressives Congress APC, in the Southern Ijaw Constituency I, Bayelsa State, have been working hard towards building the strength of their grassroots organisation.
Recently, the party has been organising sensitisation programmes, engaging with stakeholders, women and youths groups, as well as the locals.
On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, APC held a sensitization and grassroot engagement programme at Otuan community, in the state.
According to the delegation, who were headed by the Commissioner for Women, Children Affairs, Empowerment and Social Development, Joanah Gigi, the visit was meant to consolidate the grassroots of the party and make preparations ahead of future political campaigns.
The APC stakeholders encouraged party members to unite, show commitments and work hard towards bringing more people into the party, noting that the strength of the grassroots is important to the success of the party.
Community leaders thanked the Bayelsa government for its road construction which linked the community with other places, thus improving economic activities within the area.
The programme was concluded with promises made by the leaders and members of the APC to work hard on grassroots mobilization and strengthen the party politically.
