Again, the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, has extended the ongoing 3rd phase Continuous Voter Registration CVR exercise, in Rivers State.
The exercise scheduled to end on Friday, July 10, 2026, was extended to Sunday, July 26, 2026, to enable all eligible voters in the state register ahead of the 2027 forthcoming election.
The two weeks extension was revealed in a statement made available to TPCN on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, by the Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Rivers State, Dr. Johnson Alalibo Sinikiem.
The Commission also noted that without visiting the INEC office, fresh registrants can start and complete their registrations online from Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
According to the resident electoral commissioner, “the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Rivers State wishes to inform the general public that the ongoing 3rd Phase Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, initially scheduled to end on July 10, 2026, has been extended to Sunday July 26th, 2026.
“The exercise will now hold each day of the week including Saturdays and Sundays between 9am -3pm at the various INEC State and LGA offices in Rivers State.”
He said, “the approved extension is aimed at ensuring that all eligible Nigerians, particularly those who recently attained the age of 18 years, are given ample opportunity to register and participate in the democratic process.
“Those seeking to transfer, replace or update their voter’s registration details are also encouraged to take advantage of the extension by visiting cvr.inecnigeria.org.
“The Commission is also pleased to inform the general public that effective from Wednesday July 8, 2026, fresh registrants can now start and complete their registrations online without visiting an INEC office.”
Sinikiem further reiterated the Commission’s commitment to ensuring that every eligible Nigerian participates in the democratic processes as we prepare for the 2027 General Election.
