The Turkish league heavyweight club, and champions— Galatasaray are reportedly expected to part ways with Mauro Icardi this summer. The 33-year-old Argentine striker has been with Cimbom since 2023 and has been an important player, but his exit will leave a significant void in their attack.
The recent report claimed that Galatasaray have not been linked with many strikers yet, but they may soon add another Nigerian forward in Arokodare. Reason being that the Turkish Galatasaray enthusiast Burak Eren suggests that Osimhen has urged the club to sign Arokodare to serve as a backup.
It had been made clear that the duo Nigerian strikers share a good relationship, and as a matter of fact, Osimhen is highly respected in the Super Eagles squad due to his quality and achievements; even Arokodare has previously cited the former Napoli man as an inspiration.
Tolu Arokodare is coming off a disappointing debut campaign at Wolves, who joined from Belgian club Genk in a deal worth €26 million last summer, but he endured a tough season, contributing just six goals and two assists in 38 appearances.
Wolves struggled the entire season and got relegated from the English Premier League football and they finished at the bottom of the table. Now Wolves need to sell some of their players and make some changes before they start playing in the Championship.
On a one hand, the Nigerian international Arokodare is one of the players that Wolves might sell. He has been talked about with some clubs in Turkey like Fenerbahçe, Beşiktaş and Trabzonspor. Even though he has not done well in England. Statistics has it that the 24-years old has scored a lot of goals. He has scored 90 goals in 259 games, for his club.
It does not look like Arokodare will go to any of those clubs, due to the fact that they have already signed players or have other things they need to do. So now it seems like Rams Park is a place where Arokodare might end up.
Wolves have not disclosed how much they want for Arokodare yet, but they will probably sell him if someone makes a good offer. However, there is also the possibility that Galatasaray will propose a loan deal for Arokodare. It remains to be seen if the transfer will eventually happen.
