The burial of Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo in Arochukwu, Abia State on Thursday, June 18, 2026, has been dominated by speculation that his wife could be pregnant with their child.
This speculation began during the brief visit to the palace of the Eze Aro of Arochukwu, where the comment was made. A man who was present at the ceremony and was believed by some to be the traditional ruler made a statement, but Victoria Inyama, renowned actress, later revealed in an Instagram post that the man in question was a representative to Eze Aro of Arochukwu.
The Eze’s representative in his statement, wished for Alex’s lineage to continue and not seize.
He added that, as it was reported that the actor’s wife was pregnant, he hoped the child would achieve even greater success than the father.
The viral video has received mixed reviews on social media as a few people claimed that they would be content if the statement was true, considering it as a gift from the deceased actor. However, others were curious about the rationale behind the public disclosure of personal information like this.
Some believe Alexx would most definitely have been satisfied with the news kept confidential, as some commentators claimed that the video should not have been circulated.
His wife, Anwuli Ekubo, the widow of the actor, was seen mourning in a somber light during the funeral ceremony as she was dressed in white attire matched by a nose mask and sunglasses.
