ITGOV 2026 To Focus On Strengthening Nigeria’s Digital Infrastructure Agenda

As Nigeria accelerates efforts to modernise public services through technology, government officials, policymakers and technology industry leaders are expected to converge in Abuja next month for the 2026 edition of the IT Governance Conference (ITGOV).

The conference, organised by Tranter IT Infrastructure Services Limited and powered by ManageEngine, is scheduled for July 15, 2026. This year’s event will centre on the theme, “Building Nigeria’s Digital Public Infrastructure for Economic Growth, Security, and Governance Efficiency.”

According to the organisers, the conference comes at a pivotal time as the Federal Government advances several major digital transformation projects, including the implementation of its Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) framework, the rollout of the Nigerian Data Exchange, and the integration of national identity systems across critical sectors.

They noted that conversations around digital infrastructure have evolved beyond the question of whether such systems should be developed. The current challenge, they said, is ensuring that institutions responsible for implementation possess the capacity, coordination and strategic direction required to achieve national objectives.

Chief Executive Officer of Tranter IT Infrastructure Services Limited, Dr Emmanuel Ayoola, described the current phase of Nigeria’s digital transformation journey as a defining moment that requires careful decision-making and collaboration among key stakeholders.

“Nigeria’s digital infrastructure agenda is no longer theoretical. Institutions are making foundational decisions right now, and the margin for misalignment is narrow. ITGOV 2026 exists to ensure that the people driving those decisions have the context, the peer engagement and the clarity of thinking that this moment demands,” Ayoola said.

The one day conference will feature keynote presentations, fireside chats and panel discussions involving senior government officials, technology executives, policy specialists and public sector leaders.

Key discussions are expected to explore how digital public infrastructure can strengthen governance systems, improve national security, enhance public service delivery and drive sustainable economic growth.

Communications Manager at Tranter IT Infrastructure Services Limited, Abel Edoka, said the conference has been designed to focus on practical implementation rather than policy conversations alone.

According to him, participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas, learn from industry experiences and identify workable solutions for building robust digital systems capable of supporting Nigeria’s long-term development goals.

Edoka added that creating efficient, secure and resilient digital infrastructure remains essential to achieving better governance outcomes and unlocking economic opportunities across the country.

Industry stakeholders expect the event to attract a broad range of participants, including senior government officials, chief information officers, regulators, technology professionals and public policy experts involved in shaping the nation’s digital ecosystem.

With several large scale digital infrastructure projects already in progress, ITGOV 2026 is expected to serve as a strategic platform for fostering collaboration, aligning stakeholder priorities and accelerating the shift from policy formulation to effective implementation.
