Alfera Technik Takes African-Made Technology to Europe with New Device Launch

Nigerian original equipment manufacturer Alfera Technik has stepped onto the global stage, unveiling its first lineup of consumer electronic devices in Europe as part of its push to expand beyond Africa and compete in the international tech market.

The company introduced three products the Alfera One, Alfera Pro, and Alfera Max at a launch event held in Brussels, Belgium. Each device is designed for a specific audience, ranging from everyday users to professionals, developers, and gaming enthusiasts.

This European showcase marks a significant milestone for Alfera Technik, which first entered Nigeria’s consumer electronics space in September 2025 with its debut in Lagos. The Brussels event represents its first major international presentation since launch.

As part of its long-term strategy, the company also revealed plans to build a manufacturing facility in Ibadan by 2026. The facility is expected to strengthen local production capacity and contribute to the development of a more structured electronics manufacturing ecosystem within Nigeria.

Company executives explained that the decision to launch in Europe was not only about expansion but also about testing global market response and boosting visibility among investors, policymakers, and members of the African diaspora.

Chief Executive Officer of Alfonso Group, Adebayo Alfonso, said the company aims to prove that African designed technology can compete at global standards while driving industrial growth across the continent.

“We are designed and made in Africa, but we are building to global standards,” Alfonso said in a statement on Tuesday.

He added that Africa must begin to develop large scale technology manufacturing capabilities that can stand alongside established global players.

“We have gone through many challenges but we believe Africa and Europe can collaborate in building stronger technology ecosystems,” he said.

Alfera Technik also disclosed that it is adopting a distributed production model across Africa, sourcing components from multiple countries rather than relying on a single supply base.

Head of Operations at Alfonso Group, Gbenga Ogundipe, said the company is already working with partners in Nigeria and Sierra Leone for component production while also expanding efforts in local software development.

He noted that while global platforms remain necessary for certain functions, the company’s long-term vision includes developing an African operating system in collaboration with academic institutions.

The Brussels launch event, held on May 21, attracted diplomats, technology consultants, former European Parliament members, and members of the African diaspora in Europe.

Organisers said attendees came from Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean, highlighting the company’s diaspora-focused growth strategy. However, they noted that Nigerian representation at the event was relatively limited compared to other groups.

Head of Marketing at Alfonso Group, Laurent Mankasi, said storytelling and cultural identity will play a central role in the company’s global branding approach.

“Connection is number one for this company,” he said, adding that Alfera Technik aims to reflect diverse cultural identities in its products and communication strategy.

Looking ahead, the company reaffirmed its commitment to expanding manufacturing capacity in Nigeria, with the planned Ibadan facility expected to begin operations in 2026 as part of its broader industrialisation agenda.
