Instagram users can now customize the appearance of their profiles in a way that was previously impossible.
Meta has officially rolled out a new feature called Grid Reordering, allowing users to rearrange posts on their profile grid regardless of when they were originally published.
The update, announced by Meta on June 8, marks a significant shift from Instagram’s traditional profile layout, where posts automatically appeared in chronological order.
With the new feature, users now have the freedom to organize their profiles based on personal preferences, branding goals, or creative direction.
According to Meta, the feature is designed to give users greater flexibility in how they present themselves online.
Whether it is showcasing a new phase of their content journey, highlighting important projects, reviving older posts, or creating a more visually appealing aesthetic, Grid Reordering offers a new level of customization.
To use the feature, users simply need to visit their profile, press and hold any post, select the “Reorder Grid” option, and drag posts into their preferred positions.
Meta noted that pinned posts and Reels will remain fixed at the top of the profile and will not be affected by the rearrangement.
The introduction of Grid Reordering is expected to be particularly beneficial for content creators, influencers, businesses, and brands that rely heavily on visual storytelling.
Users can now organize tutorials, content series, transformation posts, product showcases, or multi-part stories in a logical sequence, making it easier for followers to navigate and engage with their content.
The feature also gives older posts a second chance to gain visibility.
By repositioning valuable content higher on their profiles, users can introduce new audiences to posts they may have previously missed.
Industry observers believe the update reflects Instagram’s continued focus on creator tools and personalized user experiences, allowing individuals to shape their profiles around what is most relevant to them at any given time.
