As part of his initiative to promote economic empowerment and grassroot developments, Hon. Oboku Oforji, has donated six buses to youths and community groups within his constituency.
Oforji, who is the member representing Yenagoa/Kolokuma-Opokuma Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, made this donation on Sunday, May 31, 2026.
He revealed that the buses gifted the youths and community groups was in fulfillment of a pledge he made on May 26, 2026.

According to the lawmaker, when YELGA/KOLGA Community Youth President’s Forum paid him an endorsement visit to pledge their support for his second term bid for the house of representatives, he assured them of economic empowerment.
Oforji donates four of the buses to YELGA/KOLGA Community Youth Presidents’ Forum to support their income-generating activities.
One of the buses was donated to the YELGA CDC Chairmen Forum while one was given to a certain Mr. Emmanuel Ikiba, a constituent from Okordia Clan.
During the presentation, the reps member charged the beneficiaries on adequate maintenance of the buses to avoid regular breakdowns.
He expressed confidence that the vehicles would serve as sustainable sources of income for the beneficiaries if properly managed.
Oforji noted that the buses would also help address transportation challenges during official engagements and community-related activities.
The federal lawmaker stated that the gesture underscores his commitment to empowering constituents, strengthening grassroots institutions, and advancing sustainable community development across Yenagoa and Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Areas.
On their part, the bneficiaries and community stakeholders commended the initiative, describing it as a practical demonstration of responsive representation and a significant contribution to the welfare of the people.
