In an effort to reposition the South-East for digital transformation, the Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation (LSEF) has made a significant donation of a multi-million-naira state-of-the-art AI-Tech Centre to Holy Ghost College, Owerri, Imo State, coinciding with the school’s 77th anniversary celebration.
The technology facility, which was donated over the weekend, is outfitted with highly integrated all-in-one Zinox computers, 24-hour iPower solar-powered electricity, and high-speed Starlink corporate Internet connectivity, fully subscribed for the next five years.
Crafted as a world-class smart learning environment, the centre also includes eco-friendly integrated workstations, modern furniture, and two large AI-enabled interactive screens designed for real-time online tutorials and digital learning sessions. This facility immediately elevates Holy Ghost College to the ranks of Nigeria’s emerging smart technology-driven secondary schools, enabling it to compete on a global scale.
Leo Stan Ekeh, an alumnus of the institution, expressed that the project was motivated by his aspiration to equip students with the digital skills and global exposure necessary to succeed in the 21st-Century knowledge economy.
Ekeh remarked: “It is my hope that this centre will cultivate Nigeria’s next generation of tech-driven billionaires who can generate wealth, transform lives, and change the destinies of millions of Nigerians.
“Many of us who achieved success in business during our era did so despite limited access to technology and infrastructure, but with divine assistance. Today’s youth have a far better opportunity. My vision is for this centre to foster a robust technology culture among young Nigerians, and through strategic collaborations with globally recognized consultants, we will provide certified AI training and content, establishing this institution as a premier, world-class technology hub.”
He further noted that plans are already in motion to develop the centre into a certified training hub for global technology brands, including Microsoft, Cisco, Oracle, and Starlink.
