The Nigeria’s U17 women national team, the Flamingos have made it to the final round of the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifiers after a commanding two-legged display against Guinea.
The Flamingos won the game 5-0 in Abidjan, and they played the next game in Ikenne on Sunday and won 6-0, sealing a comprehensive aggregate triumph of 11-0.
When the Flamingos played at home they were amazing, and the home base fans were not disappoint. Oluwakemi Adegbuyi gave opening goal in the 9th minute. She kicked the ball into the net after Queen Joseph sent it to her.
The captain of the Flamingos Harmony Chidi also joined the score sheet, shoot the ball from far away and it went into the net and the Flamingos kept playing and Queen Joseph scored a goal in the 23rd minute.
Adegbuyi scored again, jumping high to Head the ball into the net two minutes later Chidi scored her second goal, this shows that the Flamingos worked together as a team.
In the half of the game while the Flamingos were still playing well, anew player, Precious Oscar came into the game, scored the sixth goal in the 70th minute, who saw the Flamingos won the game 6-0. Now they will play against the Benin Republic in the next round.
The owner of Remo Stars Football Club, Hon. Kunle Soname, promised to give the Flamingos some money for every goal they scored. He said he would give them N750,000, for each goal, and the recent report claimed that he kept his promise, and gave them N4.5m for the goals they scored.
