The Bayelsa State Ministry of Education has announced its readiness to conduct the JSS 1 Scholarship Entrance Examination for the 2026/2027 academic session.
In a statement made available to TPCN on Monday, June 1, 2026, the Permanent Secretary, Bayelsa State Ministry of Education, Mr Simon-Peter Okene, tasked candidates on adequate preparation.
Okene revealed that the scholarship entrance examination into the Captain Samuel Timinipre Owonaro Ijaw National Academy, Kaiama, would hold on Thursday, June 4, 2026.
He charged head teachers of public primary schools to present four best primary six publics for the examination. Also, Okene noted that the examination was opened strictly for pupils who are indigenes of the state.

According to him, candidates must present promotion report and result card of primary 5 to 6 and should appear in their school uniforms. The perm sec further directed head teachers to inform the pupils to come with two passport photographs.
He further announced St. Jude’s Girls Secondary School, Amarata as examination center for candidates in girls school in Brass, Ekeremor, Kolokuma, Opokuma, Nembe, Ogbia, Sagbama, Southern Ijaw and Yenagoa.
Those in boys schools around same areas are expected to go to Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, for their exams. Meanwhile, the examination has been scheduled to commence at exactly 10:00am on the dot.
