According to the current report, it is claimed that Rivers United head coach Finidi George has shifted attention to the President Federation Cup after narrowly missed out on the Nigeria Premier Football League title on the final day of the season.
Rivers United finished the season in place where they won their last league match against Katsina United in Port Harcourt but poor results from other games cause them the NPFL title. This was a disappointment for the club and its supporters despite the fact that the team had a good title race.
Finidi George talked about the end of the league season, he said it was very painful to lose the title —He told his players to move on and focus on the Federation Cup. He said Rivers United can still end the season with a trophy and play in football.
The coach said his team showed determination during the NPFL season so they deserved credit for taking the title race to the day. He continues by saying that the experience they gained will help motivate the team in the cup competition.
The former Super Eagles star also told his players to stay strong and not think about missing out on the league title. The Federation Cup is another chance for the club to thank its supporters for their loyalty, of course the supporters were very committed during the season.
