Nollywood veteran Kate Henshaw has finally spoken about her long-rumoured fallout with fellow actress Genevieve Nnaji, giving more clarity on what led to the end of their once-close friendship.
In a recent interview on the Tea and Tay podcast, Kate explained that the main issue between them was a breakdown of trust. She recalled that they were very close at some point and often attended events together, which made many people see them as strong friends within the industry. However, things gradually changed over time.
She noted that the shift in their relationship began when she felt Genevieve no longer fully trusted her, and that feeling created distance between them. According to her, once trust is questioned in any relationship, it becomes difficult to maintain the same closeness, even if the bond was once strong.
Kate also spoke more generally about friendships, pointing out that not every relationship is meant to last forever. She explained that people come into one’s life for different reasons and at different times, and sometimes they naturally drift apart without any major public issues.
“We grew apart. She had some kind of mistrust about me. We even used to go to events together, then there came that gap. I don’t know what came over her, but me, I moved on,” she said.
