Aniocha North APC Delivers massive vote for  Oborevwori

Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State on Wednesday endorsed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as the party’s governorship candidate for the 2027 election following the conduct of a direct primary across the council’s 10 wards.

Supporters gathered at designated voting centres in large numbers and openly declared support for the governor during the exercise, which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security personnel.

Announcing the outcome, the collation officer for Aniocha North said the primary was conducted peacefully and recorded strong participation from party members across the area.

He subsequently confirmed Oborevwori as the APC governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Aniocha North.

Speaking after casting his vote at Ward One in Obior/Onicha-Uku, former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, described the turnout as a reflection of the governor’s growing acceptance in the area.

Elumelu said ongoing infrastructure projects and political inclusion under the present administration had strengthened public support for the governor.

“I am impressed with the exercise and happy that our people appreciate what the governor is doing.

The Obior-Ubulu-Uku Road project is visible evidence of the administration’s commitment to development,” he said.

According to him, residents across Aniocha North have witnessed improvements in infrastructure, which contributed to the overwhelming support recorded during the primary.

He also assured the governor of strong electoral backing from Ward One and the entire local government area ahead of the 2027 general election.

“We have the structure and support base to deliver for the governor in the next election,” Elumelu stated.

The former lawmaker, who recently emerged as the APC candidate for the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency seat, listed several projects he said had impacted the area.

They include the ongoing Obior-Ubulu-Uku Road project, the Idumuje-Ugboko Road supported by the NDDC, the road linking the NYSC Orientation Camp junction through Onicha-Uku and Ugbodu to Ohadua in Edo State, and the Issele-Uku township road project.

He added that the completion of the Issele-Asagba/Otulu Road further demonstrated the administration’s commitment to the development of Aniocha North communities.

Elumelu said the support shown during the primary reflected the confidence many residents have in the governor’s leadership and performance.

He also commended party members for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere throughout the exercise, noting that many residents believed the administration had positively impacted traders, youths and local communities across the area.
