The Chairman of Abua/Odual Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Owolobi Michael Ofori, on Wednesday 13 May 2026 played host to the Member representing Abua/Odual and Ahoada East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Solomon Bob.
Speaking during the visit which coincided with the presentation of appointment letters to 600 newly appointed Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) and Special Assistants (SAs) across the LGA, wards, and polling units.
The Abolga council chairman commended Rep. Bob for his quality representation and urged party faithful to mobilise support for him ahead of the APC primaries.
“Thank you for all the good things you’ve been doing for your constituents,” the chairman said.
“I want to use this opportunity to tell all our eligible party members that the day to nominate Hon. Solomon Bob is on Friday.
“While we are here giving out appointment letters to our latest SSAs and SAs, I also want to tell you, if you have never met him, this is the man you are going to vote for on Friday in our party primaries.
”Hon. Ofori declared that the election was already settled in favour of the Rainbow Coalition, insisting no other political party existed in Abua/Odual outside the coalition.
“We have made sure that no other party exists in Abua/Odual other than the Rainbow Coalition. We don’t care what they call themselves, we are waiting for them in this local government,” he said.
The chairman assured Rep. Bob and other coalition aspirants of total victory across all levels, from the House of Representatives primaries to the governorship.“I have said it, we will work, we will deliver, and then we will demand our own.
From your primaries, to the senatorial primaries, to the state assembly primaries, to the governorship primaries, we are waiting for them,” he added.In his response, Hon. Solomon Bob lauded the council chairman’s performance, describing him as the best performing LGA chairman in Rivers State.
“The Chairman here, support him, he is doing an excellent job. In Rivers State now, in terms of performance, I am very proud of him.
He is number one,” Bob said.The federal lawmaker traced his political fortune to Abua/Odual, stating that the LGA remained his anchor and political base.
“In politics, you must have where you anchor. If not for Abua/Odual, I wouldn’t be in the House of Reps today… Abua/Odual saved me. That’s why I don’t joke with this LGA.
This is the LGA that is my anchor in politics,” he stated.The representative also used the occasion to inspect several ongoing projects initiated by the council chairman which includes the Abua/Odual High Court (90 per cent completed), the Ayama-Okana Link Road, the new Abua/Odual Ultra Modern Park, and other infrastructural facilities.
