Petralon Energy Company, an oil company has increased oil production at its Dawes Island oilfield in Rivers State
The company is now producing about 4,800 barrels of oil every day.
This is because the DI-3 well is working well.
The company said that oil production from the well started on March 14 2026.
This added 2,800 barrels of oil to the fields daily production. This is an addition to the field. It happened not long after the DI-2 well started working in October 2025.
This was the companys production from the field.The Dawes Island oilfield is located in the Eastern Niger Delta region.
It is 15 kilometers from Port Harcourt. When Petralon Energy Company bought the field in 2021 it was not being used.
The field is very big covering 46 square kilometers. It has a lot of oil 17.6 million barrels.The company has already exported over 350,000 barrels of oil.
They sent it to the Bonny Oil and Gas Terminal, which’s about 30 kilometers away.
The founder and chief executive officer of Petralon Energy, Ahonsi Unuigbe talked about this achievement. He said it shows that local companies can handle energy projects.
He also said that the DI-3 well was developed successfully and safely.
