Nigerian Afrobeats star Divine Ikubor, popularly referred to as Rema has been confirmed as one of the headline performers for the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles, United States.
The 25 Year-old singer will perform alongside several global music stars at the tournament’s official kickoff event on June 12, 2026.
The Fédération Internationale de Football Association, (FIFA) which serves as the worldwide governing body for soccer, announced the entertainment lineup in a post shared on Instagram, revealing that Rema will share the stage with internationally recognised artistes including LISA, Katy Perry, Tyla, Future and Anitta.
According to FIFA, the selected performers represent the cultural diversity of the United States and the influence of global music and entertainment.
The football body explained that the event aims to celebrate unity, creativity and the power of music to connect people from different backgrounds during the world’s biggest football tournament.
In another major announcement, FIFA confirmed that the official World Cup anthem titled “Dai Dai,” performed by Nigerian Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy and Colombian music icon Shakira, will be released on May 14.
The tournament final on July 19 will also feature the first-ever Super Bowl-style halftime show, curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay
