Nigerian Afrobeats star Davido, born David Adeleke, has said he is putting his music career on hold to support the re-election bid of his uncle, Ademola Adeleke.
The singer made this known on Tuesday, while speaking at the inauguration of the Accord Party Youth Campaign Committee in Ede. He said that his decision was influenced not only by family ties but also by his belief in the governor’s performance so far.
Davido urged members of the team to focus on grassroots efforts, encouraging door-to-door engagement across all local government areas to highlight the administration’s achievements and future plans.
Following the inauguration, Davido was named chairman of the Imole Campaign Council Youth Committee, with Adeshina Kayode Olododo as vice chairman and Hon. Gbenga Idowu as secretary.
The committee has been tasked with driving youth participation and coordinating grassroots mobilisation across all 30 local government areas in the state in support of the governor’s re-election bid.
