The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the resumption of the final phase of its nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
The Commission said the third and final phase of the exercise will begin on Monday, May 11, 2026, and end on Friday, July 10, 2026.
INEC explained that the earlier second phase of the CVR was suspended on April 17, 2026, to allow for the cleaning of the voters’ register after the publication for claims and objections by registrants.
According to the Commission, the final phase is open to eligible Nigerians who have attained the age of 18, as well as those who were unable to register during previous phases.
It also noted that registered voters who wish to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct their personal details can do so during the exercise.
INEC directed affected persons to access its online portal at cvr.inecnigeria.org or visit its State and Local Government Area offices across the country for assistance.
The Commission further stated that the Register of Voters will be displayed for claims and objections from July 23 to July 29, 2026, to allow citizens verify and challenge entries where necessary.
INEC assured Nigerians of its preparedness for the exercise and urged eligible citizens to take advantage of the opportunity to ensure their participation in the electoral process.
