In its efforts to help local companies penetrate the international market, Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) has urged local oil and gas companies to build strong international partnerships as a way of drawing investors
.The group is urging local companies to take advantage of the Offshore Technology Conference which will be held in Houston, Texas in 2026 as a forum through which local companies can build alliances, attract investments, and get acquainted with modern technology.
The OTC is among the most celebrated events globally for offshore energy companies.
According to the statement by PETAN issued from Lagos, Nigeria, the organization will focus on highlighting the strengths and making Nigerian companies competitive in the energy value chain globally.
The activities of the association will be centered around the Nigeria Pavilion, with the theme “Africa’s Energy Transformation: Scaling Investment, Technology and Local Capacity for Sustainable Growth.
”It is important to note that the involvement of PETAN in these activities would transcend the usual attendance, but will seek to make Nigeria more visible in global energy conversations.
This pavilion shall act as a platform for investment dialogue and exhibitions of technology.
Chairman of PETAN, Mr Wole Ogunsanya, explained that the organization will seek to ensure that local businesses are more involved in decision making processes in global energy organizations than just being a face there.
Furthermore, the association emphasized the need for continuous participation in global conversations if Nigerian companies want to compete and take advantage of new opportunities.
