JAMB Summons 94 Candidates, 43 Institutions Over Exam Fraud Claims

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has called on 94 candidates and several tertiary institutions to appear before separate virtual panels over alleged irregularities linked to exam registration and questionable certificates.

In a notice shared on Tuesday via its official X platform, the board explained that the candidates involved include those suspected of seeking or paying for unauthorized assistance during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration.

It also includes Direct Entry applicants from 2025 whose certificates have been flagged as fake by their respective institutions.

JAMB stated that the affected candidates are expected to attend an online investigative session scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 10 a.m.

Their registration numbers have been published on the board’s website under the “Solicitation Candidates” section, while access details for the virtual meeting have been sent to their registered phone numbers. The board warned that any candidate who fails to attend the session will be considered to have admitted guilt.

In a related development, JAMB also directed heads of institutions linked to the flagged certificates to join a separate virtual meeting set for Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 10 a.m. The list of affected institutions has been made available on the board’s website under “Institutions with Outstanding Response.”

Findings indicate that 43 institutions including universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education are involved, with a total of 2,638 Direct Entry results still awaiting proper clearance.
