UNIPORT Hosts NASLT’s 40th Annual Conference

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT), Senator Mao Ohuabunwa on Monday, November 3, 2025 welcomed a delegation from the National Association of Science Laboratory Technologists of Nigeria (NASLT) during a courtesy visit at the university campus.

The visit was part of the ongoing activities for NASLT’s 40th Annual Conference, currently underway at UNIPORT. The conference brings together science laboratory professionals from across Nigeria to discuss advancements, share knowledge, and strengthen collaboration in scientific research and technology.

In his remarks, Senator Ohuabunwa expressed profound delight at hosting the delegation, revealing his deep ties to the profession. “I am a proud Fellow of the Institute and was the sponsor of the bill that established this noble institution,” he stated. He commended NASLT for its decades-long contributions to scientific development and laboratory practice in Nigeria.

The Pro-Chancellor urged members to continue driving innovation and excellence in science and technology, emphasizing the critical role of laboratory technologists in national development.
