Andoni LG Chairman Celebrates International Day of the Girl Child

The Chairman of Andoni Local Government Area, Hon. Promise Lucky Otuo, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to promoting the rights, education, and empowerment of girls in Andoni in commemoration of the International Day of the Girl Child.

Hon. Otuo noted that the girl child remained central to sustainable community development, describing her as an essential pillar for the future of society.

“My administration will continue to demonstrate strong support for the girl child through educational bursaries, empowerment programmes, and initiatives aimed at enhancing female inclusion in leadership and community development”.

“The Otuo-led administration is anchored on a no-discrimination policy, ensuring that every resident of Andoni regardless of gender, background, or social status has equal access to opportunities, empowerment, and development initiatives” he maintained.

In line with this year’s global theme, “Invest in Girls’ Rights: Our Leadership, Our Well-being,” Hon Otuo said his administration will continue to encourage parents, schools, and community leaders to prioritize equal opportunities for girls and ensure their active participation in educational and social advancement.

According to him “the Andoni Local Government Council, under his leadership, remains dedicated to implementing programmes that empower young girls to realize their full potential, reinforcing the belief that when the girl child thrives, the entire community moves forward.
